Back at the start of the AFL Women's league series, there was an attempt to qualify who is best placed to finish on top of the season ladder, much like is done for the Men's league. But unlike the Men's league, where we have pre-existing data and performances to determine differing rankings, the AFLW teams all started out at the same point.
But now with 4 games under the belt, we can begin to see who is better, and look to the future to re-predict the finishing positions by the swarms method employed for the Men's league.
The below data is the calculated percentage chance of a team finishing in a position after each round (and where P = pre-season).
Example - after round 4, Carlton are a 51% chance to finish 4th, given their results to date, and next three matches.
